Every once in a while,
in order to move forward-- you need to move back,    all the way back to the beginning. That's the idea behind the Re-inventing Television Summit. We are approaching a period of rapid development in the television industry. This is the time to challenge all assumptions, de-construct years of bad habits, and re-build a fresh model with a fresh point of view.

To that end, the ITA is inviting a group of 100 distinguished thought-leaders to participate in a frank and unrestricted discussion of next generation television. The first half of the program will be led by 8 Mentors, all of whom were once CEO/President of a major TV studio/network in the '70s/'80s. We'll be de-constructing the whole history of the television business, listening to the stories from those who were there. The second half will be led by 8 Futurists, all published authors and pundits who have expertise in advertising, technology, media, design. We'll be re-constructing a best-case model of the TV industry, using the tools we have available today.

We begin the Summit at Long Beach Harbor with a Digital Home Showcase, highlighting innovative technologies presented by leading ITV companies. We continue with a Cocktail Reception followed by the Mentors Roundtable Dinner.

Monday morning, we’ll be departing on a chartered boat to Catalina Island. The main day of the Summit takes place at the Catalina Casino, the historic 1920's art deco ballroom and theater facility, which dominates beautiful Avalon Harbor. We’ll spend the whole day in workshops/discussions and then some free time exploring the island. The evening concludes with a Gala Cocktail Reception followed by the Futurists Roundtable Dinner.
