The ITA Re-inventing Television Summit
August 17 - 19, 2005
Queen Mary, Long Beach California

Every once in a while, in order to move forward-- you need to move back, all the way back to the beginning. That's the idea behind the Re-inventing Television Summit. We are approaching a period of rapid development in the television industry. This is the time to challenge all assumptions, de-construct years of bad habits, and re-build a new model with a fresh point of view.

To that end, the ITA is inviting a group of distinguished thought-leaders to participate in a frank and unrestricted discussion of next generation television. The first half of the program will be led by 5 Mentors, all of whom were once CEO/President of a major TV studio/network in the '70s/'80s. We'll be de-constructing the whole history of the television business, listening to the stories from those who were there. The second half will be led by 5 Futurists, all published authors who have expertise in advertising, technology, media, design, or philosophy. We'll be re-constructing a best-case model of the TV industry, using the tools we have available today.

The Re-inventing Television Summit will take place on board the Queen Mary, a historic 1930's oceanliner, that is dry-docked in Long Beach Harbor in southern California. All meetings and meals will take place in the original ballrooms and lounges on board the ship. Two night's lodging, in a fully-restored state room, is included in the price of admission.
